About Dottie
Dottie Compton never planned to raise a child on the hard slats of a park bench, but at 17 years old, with nowhere to go and no one to turn to, that was reality. As her toddler slept innocently in her arms, redemption felt very far away. She had looked for love all her life, responding to life’s harsh challenges with an increasingly frantic search for something—anything—to fill her heart. This search came to an end when Dottie discovered that salvation from life's pain and emptiness could be found through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
As soon as she turned her heart toward God, He began to transform her broken life. She once had a wounded heart; now she experiences real love with God, family, and friends. She once was chained in circumstances; now she freely lives. Once was alone; now He is always near.
Dottie had a fresh start and she wasn’t going to waste it. She began helping others—little things at first, like sharing the love of God with friends, donating extra groceries and blankets. The more she gave, the more she wanted to give. The ministry God put in her heart, Creative Outreach Ministries, was finally born in 1998.
Dottie's heart and the Creative Outreach vision is to be a mirror reflecting God’s love and grace in our community; Creating Hope, Providing Support, Changing Lives!
