We all want our lives to mean something, and we all want to accomplish something great. It’s part of who we are. Our goals define our actions, and the response we gain is our mark on the world.
Sometimes, along the way we can lose sight of our goals as other responsibilities or hardships show up, and it’s so important to find a way to return back to them. It’s time to stop letting circumstances or excuses take away from what God wants us to do!
One of the best things you can do to reach a goal in your life is to write it down! Consider what you want to achieve, take it before God, and write it down somewhere you will see it, and see it often! This way, you will have a constant reminder, a steady whisper of what you know you need to do.
Be specific and add deadlines, without overdoing it. Don’t set before yourself a monumental task to accomplish this year that isn’t attainable or relevant to your life. You may have a goal that will take years to obtain, and that can make them seem out of reach. Instead, set for yourself a short-term goal for this year that will eventually get you to the long-term goal.
When you set your mind to something, you can really make progress for a time, but then dwindle down as you encounter bumps in the road. That is why you must continue to be intentional and make time to reach your goals each step of the way. Expect to have some snags that come up, and embrace them! Learn from them, and limit any side effects of negativity.
Believe in yourself and who God is in you! He certainly is on your side, and will not leave you. You can do anything if you set your mind to it and with God backing you. Don’t give up!
“Then the Lord answered me and said, ‘Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.’” Habakkuk 2:2-3
