A little girl looks up at her daddy and asks for one more bedtime story. He has work to finish, but knows that five extra minutes spent with his daughter will be cherished by both of them.
Small things matter—sometimes they matter the most.
We tend to pass small things off without realizing they can have long-term effects on our lives. We focus on the end result alone without shining a light on the choices that must be made in order to get there.
God’s amazing gift of freewill gives us the gift of choice but we must couple that with God’s wisdom if we want to walk in His way for our lives. Making small changes now will result in larger differences later in life.
It helps to take on the practice of looking at the big picture—the ultimate goal—and measure how the smaller things fit into that picture. Ask yourself, “Will this decision add to or take away from getting to my destiny?”
Do not look at small contributions as “small.” They are necessary steps that will enable you to reach your destination. Success is an accumulation of many small things so don’t dismiss them!
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.” Zechariah 4:10
