After a long day it’s great to be able to unwind. We often think about the day we had and what’s coming up in the next.

This is also a prime time for us to take account of our emotions and actions during the day. Even if it’s just 5-10 minutes, the benefits will quickly become clear. If we neglect to check ourselves, it will be difficult to improve on areas where we failed the test and were wrong or overreacted.

It is most important to be honest with yourself and with God. Say you lashed out at an employee or coworker for turning in a report late. Ask yourself, “Could I have handled that problem in a more respectful way while still being effective?”

We don’t always like to admit when we’re wrong, but it is necessary for growth. If there’s someone you realize you need to apologize to, don’t put it off! They will appreciate it and more than likely respect you a lot more for it.

Moreover, it pleases God when we seek to honor Him in every area of our lives. Taking those everyday moments before Him and asking for wisdom and clarity will bring you to a new place of surrender and power. You’ll never go wrong with bringing God in!

“My words are plain to anyone with understanding, clear to those with knowledge. Choose My instruction rather than silver, and knowledge rather than pure gold. For wisdom is far more valuable than rubies. Nothing you desire can compare with it.” Proverbs 8:9-11
