One of the greatest misconceptions about living for God is that He only wants us to live “good” honest, happy lives. It’s important, but it just scratches the surface of what God intends for us.

It’s about finding joy in Him and delighting in Him no matter what is going on around us. It’s about fearing Him and honoring His sovereignty. It’s about turning outward and living with purpose—not a self-oriented purpose but a Kingdom purpose.

We are not here to live good Christian lives alone. We are here to bring the light of salvation to the people we come across every day. God has a specific call for you; He has a specific purpose for you to carry out so that others may know Him too.

We can’t do this if we continue to carry all of the extra baggage in our lives that weigh us down and hold us back. We must let go and turn our eyes to God.

Shift your focus and you will find that eternity will play a much larger role in your day-to-day attitude and actions. The small things that we get so distracted with will fade and we will begin to feel an awakening in our hearts to know God more and a passion to bring others to truth!

“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
