“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Don’t put yourself in a position where you think you have to be just like somebody else. We can easily see someone else and start wishing we had what they have or we were more like they are. The world likes to emphasize our imperfections especially about looks. Just by watching commercials on TV, we can determine that we are “missing something,” and that there is some product can make us prettier or thinner—make us shine!
We must learn to tune out this form of thinking and realize God made us all unique in our own way. He made you; He chose the way you look and the talents you have and He likes it.
Don’t be like everyone else. Be you, God’s masterpiece. Jesus says that we can come as we are even if we don’t “shine” all the time. We may not have what everybody has, but we do have God, and that is far more important. Don’t be conformed to this world. Instead develop communication with your Creator and learn what He has for you, because He has more than anything you’ll see on the TV, in newspapers or on websites. God gives what really matters freely to the people who search and develop a true relationship with Him!
