Honest Measures

If you want to be honest with yourself, you cannot step on the scale with one foot on the floor. Honesty is the difference between overcoming issues in life and being trapped in them—honesty with yourself and with God!

Deuteronomy 25:13 says, “Do not have two differing weights in your bag—one heavy, one light. Do not have two differing measures in your house—one large, one small. You must have accurate and honest weights and measures, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.”

If you truly want to be effective in the Kingdom of God you must honestly weigh anything that is holding you back. In other words, don’t pretend to be all put together when in truth you are barely holding on! You can’t reach someone else when your heart is not right with God.

We have a tendency to sweep things under the rug, but over time it all builds up. God desires our honesty and wants us to trust Him with the heavy things in our lives so we can reach out to others and share the same gift of freedom to them!
