The only way I know to help you understand how much God loves you is to invite you to read the Bible and see for yourself. You get to know God by KNOWING His Word. John 1:1 says that God and His Word are one (meaning God’s Word reveals His character, plan, and view of us, and how we can live our lives to honor Him).

Although men wrote the Bible, those men were instructed by God on what to write. If that is hard for you to believe, you are not alone! However, to move forward, you are faced with choosing to believe based on research and faith or to doubt because you don’t have all the answers.

2 Timothy 3:16 says that all scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to help us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us and teaches us to do what is right.

I admit I am a hard sell on most things, but more than 40 years ago, my life was quite a mess. I was not the person I wanted to be; unquestionably, much was due to my choices.

Here is an article that I hope answers many of your questions:

After reading the article, you can see that our Christian faith is based on the sacrifice Jesus paid on the cross for our sins. Sin is described as missing the mark or falling short of doing things God’s way. If we are honest with ourselves, we will admit we are all sinners. Christ’s sacrifice pays the penalty for the sins you and I commit. That’s why in John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

Jesus is the way because He deals with our sins so we can have a relationship with a Holy God (Holy means sinless).

Each of us must accept what Christ did on the cross to have a relationship with God.

After years of self-reliance, I knew I didn’t have what it took to get my life in the right direction and keep it there. I started and stopped more times than I could count until I was finally at the end of myself, gave up control, and asked God for help. That’s when I found forgiveness, love, and a fresh start.

Once I committed to following God’s way of thinking and doing, I started seeing differently and realized so many things were not as I had perceived them to be. It changed my life.

You may identify with this feeling: doing the best you can but never seeming like it’s enough. Inviting God to be a part of your life each day, and accepting His way of dealing with life is the answer!

If you’re reading this, know God brought you here to hear the good news of how much He loves you—unconditionally. He chose you knowing you would not be perfect; He created you on purpose BECAUSE OF LOVE.

Out of His love for you, He gave everything through Jesus Christ’s death on the cross so we could be free from sin. Because God loves unconditionally, forgiveness is guaranteed through Christ.
