 Love in Opposition

Jesus’ love is for the whole world. It is available to all. No one is accepted more than another and no one is left out.

If Jesus’ love is for the whole world, we must understand our commission to share it with the whole world, and to be able to spread His love we must understand it clearly.

We must all ask ourselves if we truly know what His love means before we can be a living example of it. So, do you love, and love in entirety? Meaning, do you love even those who disagree with you? Or those who are very different from you?

There is opportunity in our society to see some who shout that we must love all, but turn around and slander the ones who don’t agree with their opinions. We need to understand love does not mean acceptance, as disagreeing does not mean hate.

We must be able to love in opposition, and show love when we don’t feel like it. How do we do it? We call on Jesus. He is the very source of this kind of love, and our goal is to become more like Him in every way.

“Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.” 1 John 3:13-14
