TURNING PAIN INTO PURPOSE
NEW LIFE WOMEN’S CENTER
Can you imagine waking up every morning and not wanting to live or fearing for your life because of a dangerous relationship? What about being trapped in an addiction and there seems to be no escape? Pain that comes from drug and alcohol abuse, emotional distress, guilt, dysfunctional relationships, fear and childhood traumas have a continuing effect on day-to-day lifestyle choices.
New Life Women’s Center has been an effective solution to these life-controlling problems since 2003, leaning on faith-based training that focuses on spiritual and emotional wellness that transforms broken lives.
CHANGE IS AVAILABLE TO THOSE WITH A WILLING HEART REGARDLESS OF AGE, PAST, OR PROBLEMS. THERE IS NEW LIFE AVAILABLE, WHERE PAIN AND GUILT ARE WASHED AWAY AND TURNED INTO GREAT PURPOSE.
Positioned in a peaceful country setting, New Life students are provided with a beautiful atmosphere to work through their traumas and life-controlling issues. Biblical principles blend with practical knowledge through life skills classes, one-on-one and group counseling, drug rehab, GED and work training. The residential program lasts 12+ months, but the knowledge and experience gained provide ongoing support long after graduation.
It is a privilege to help women find restoration and we know we couldn’t do it without a team of dedicated and caring people.
There is incredible power when we come together to help those that have lost their way. You can invest in a woman’s life, and subsequently their family and community by partnering with us! As we do not seek government funding, we rely solely on the support of our generous community to finance this life-changing ministry. Here at New Life, we have combined Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with biblical teaching. Working hand in hand, they form the principles by which we mentor.
The cognitive therapy approach clarifies that events do not cause emotional problems. Deuteronomy 30:15 demonstrates this belief by stating, “I set before you, life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore, choose life.” We must learn to choose life over circumstances or feelings. Events that occur in our life contribute to our feelings, but they do not have to shape our future.
Our curriculum is in part by Dr. Stanton Samenow, Ph.D., a leader in cognitive therapy related to criminal thinking and behavior modification. His biography includes training seminars and workshops to a variety of professional groups including mental health, law enforcement, corrections, education, social services, and the judiciary.
We have worked with the Montgomery County Probation Office and court system since 2004, and Grimes and Waller Counties since 2012.
Since New Life began, 80% of the women who have successfully completed the program continue to live healthy, successful, and productive lives.
