Dog barking, kids yelling, work calling, washer running, car starting, bills knocking, phone buzzing, TV blaring, doorbell ringing—so much noise and so much going on.
It’s hard to hear what God is saying with so much vying for our attention. A good question to ask is, “What is God saying?” because He is saying a lot. In fact, He never stops speaking. That being said, perhaps an even better question to ask is, “Are we listening?”
It is possible to listen through the noise of our day-to-day lives if we make it a point to quiet down our soul and be still. We can do so many things if we put our minds to it and make time for it. It doesn’t mean that we have to put everything on hold for hours each day either so we can sit and listen. You can bring Him into each hour of your day by stopping for a minute and listening.
God is with us throughout whether we realize it or not. Even when you are paying your bills, He is next to you, and if you just take a moment to listen He’s probably wanting to tell you He’s got you covered even if the numbers don’t seem to add up.
God is the greatest communicator, but we are not always the greatest listeners. You can tell the greatest story ever told but it will be meaningless if there is no one to hear it.
God is telling you the greatest story of your life, don’t miss out on it!
“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” Jeremiah 33:3
