One person can make all the difference in your life. They can help you to turn your life around completely, or teach you invaluable lessons that have shaped who you are today. They have invested in you, and as it turns out, you are now part of their legacy.
When you think of who that person or persons is, it may be someone who has passed away. All that you are left with now is their memory, their story, and their example. They’ve made a difference in your life, therefore, their legacy is carried through you and strengthened through you.
How you choose to honor their legacy is up to you, but the greatest thing you can do is to pass it on to someone else in a way that will benefit them and that they will always remember!
Notably, people can also leave a negative legacy behind. It is a sad thing to think about and also serves as a profound wake-up call to make sure you are not building toward negativity in the lives you come in touch with.
At the end of it all, we all want to be remembered and remembered well. Live to honor those who have meant so much to you, and ultimately to honor the greatest legacy ever left behind in the life of Jesus Christ.
None of us can compare to Him, but we can strive to live in a way that carries His legacy forward!
“You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you.” John 13:13-15
