Everyone wants their life to have meaning and accomplish great things.

It is part of who we are. Our goals define our actions, and the response we gain is our mark on the world.

Sometimes, however, we can lose sight of our goals as other responsibilities or hardships appear. How do we find our way back?

We must stop letting circumstances or excuses take away from what God wants us to do!

One of the best things you can do to reach a goal in your life is to write it down. Be intentional, consider what you want to achieve, and take it before God. Write it down somewhere that you will see it and see it often! This way, you will have a constant reminder, a steady whisper, of what you know you need to do.

Be specific and add deadlines without overdoing them.

Don’t set a monumental task that is not attainable or relevant to your life’s purpose. Some goals will take years to obtain, which can make them seem out of reach. Break them down, and set yourself short-term goals for this year that will eventually get you to the long-term goal.

Even when you go through a challenging time, think about all the things that you can be thankful for. Address the problem, but keep things in perspective. Balance is key, and it starts with being grateful.

When you set your mind on making strong progress, you can’t allow the bumps in life to sidetrack you. Expect challenges and embrace them! Learn from them, and don’t carry around the emotional weight of the challenge.

Believe in who God made you! He is on your side and will help you fulfill His purposes. Don’t give up!

“Then the Lord answered me and said, ‘Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end, it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.’” Habakkuk 2:2-3
