When you live a life with thankfulness at the forefront, your actions will speak loudly. Other people will take notice—it’s contagious.
You may have heard about or been a part of a drive-thru “pay-it-forward,” where the person in front pays for the person following. When he pulls up to the window and is told that his meal has been paid for, his day has completely changed! Out of gratitude for the kind act, he in turn pays for the family’s meal behind him no matter the cost. A ripple effect of thankfulness and kindness began with one person’s desire to be a blessing. Their positive attitude and outlook on life has now affected many others.
Is this attitude birthed out an ungrateful heart? Impossible. This comes from a heart choosing to find good in everything; to give thanks in everything.
As Christians, every day we “pull up to the window” we have been paid for in full. We have salvation because Jesus Christ gave everything for us on the cross. Our price was death, and instead we were given life. Our response should be unending thanksgiving! We honor His sacrifice and pay it forward by sharing with others the hope we have in Christ.
“Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim His greatness. Let the whole world know what He has done.” 1 Chronicles 16:8
