At times, we all need precise direction, strength to get through life’s challenges, healing in our relationships or body, and relief from the stresses of this world. When life is complicated, confusing, and lonely, our first response should be to run to God.
For me, it took time to develop that “automatic” response. I tended to try and fix it myself; if all else failed, I ran to God, frustrated, scared, or upset. After years of working toward a deeper relationship with Him, I now include Him in everything, doing my best to stay in constant communication over decisions that lead to the big stuff, and a lot of the little stuff too!
It has helped me immensely, and I’m sure it will help you too!
Prayer is how we communicate with God, get to know Him better, and find solutions to everyday challenges. As we learn to enter and stay in His presence, we develop a listening ear,
where we deepen our relationship and can then sense His voice and direction.
He hears every prayer, but responds to
what aligns with His will.
1 John 5:14-15, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—
whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him.”
The most effective prayers, agree with God’s will. God shows us His will in the Bible.

Lord, I pray over Sarah and her fiancé BW. May their relationship be rooted in You and blessed by Your hand if it is Your will for them to marry. Remove every voice, influence, or person not from You from their lives. Make their bond peaceful, joyful, holy, and strong. I decree that no curse, nor evil plan, nor dark word spoken over Sarah’s future: her marriage, her identity, her fiancé, their lives, nor her purpose, will succeed. I pray You cover her and her fiancé and her job with divine favor, keep her secure in it, and allow her to excel. May she have harmony with coworkers, success in her tasks, and peace during work. Heal her from addictions and restore her health, Lord. Keep her physically emotionally and spiritually healthy and whole and sound, as well as her fiance and my whole family, loved ones and me! Let her sleep be sweet, her travels be safe, her marriage plans be smoothly successful, and her heart be untroubled. In Jesus’ Mighty Name, I proclaim this prayer answered this way and no other, by the grace and power of God, Amen and Hallelujah!
