PURSUE THE EXCELLENCE WITHIN YOU
EXCELLENCE IS CONTAGIOUS—AND IT CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE
I wasn’t always someone who valued excellence. Like many young people, I thought good enough was… well, good enough. But years have gone and I have been given opportunities that still shape the way I see the world—and myself—today.
I have had the honor of serving under a King and a Prophet. The King, who has since gone to be with the Lord, was a man of vision, wisdom, and incredible leadership.
The Prophet, who is here with us, continues to embody unwavering excellence. Together, they have been two of the most influential figures in my life.
THEY DIDN’T JUST ASK FOR EXCELLENCE—THEY DEMANDED IT.
And I’ll be honest: it hasn’t always been easy.
Every detail matters to the Prophet. The way I carry myself, the way I complete tasks, the way I speak—it all has to meet a standard that, at first, feels impossible.
There are moments when I still feel stretched beyond what I think I can handle. “Na Bado”.
But they saw something in me that I couldn’t always see in myself.
And because of their persistence, something has shifted in me over the years.
Excellence isn’t just something they expect from me—it has become something I expect from myself.
Now, I notice things I used to overlook: sloppy work, missed opportunities, corners cut where there shouldn’t be.
I see it not just in others, but in me. And I can’t ignore it.
EXCELLENCE HAS BECOME PART OF WHO I AM.
As I look at many young people today, I see the same mistakes I once made. I see people settling for mediocrity when they are capable of greatness.
I see them rushing through tasks, overlooking the little things that could make all the difference.
And I want to tell them: You’re capable of so much more. Don’t let “good enough” rob you of the extraordinary.
Excellence isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it.
And here’s what I’ve learned: when you embrace it, it doesn’t just change the work you do—it changes you.
Excellence is contagious. It spreads from the leaders who inspire us, to the teams we build, to the lives we touch.
The King may no longer be with us, but his legacy of excellence lives on.
The Prophet still leads by example, setting a standard that transforms everyone around her. True leaders don’t just aim for excellence—they create it in others.
The Prophet often says and I quote “An excellent spirit was found in David and this caused him to be preferred.”
TODAY, I CHALLENGE YOU: STOP SETTLING.
Start raising your standards. In your work, your relationships, your life—what would it look like to give your very best?
Pursue and embrace excellence, you’ll never want to go back. And trust me: the people around you won’t either.
