Tears&Strength[vc_row][vc_column border_color=”” visibility=”” width=”1/6″][/vc_column][vc_column border_color=”” visibility=”” width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

You’ve heard it: united we stand, divided we fall.

Strength prevails when we stand together through thick and thin, but weakness wins when we argue and tear each other down.

Unity is not always easy to maintain. We fail and we let each other down time and time again. We have many opportunities to harbor bitterness and throw in the towel, because we all are human and make mistakes. However, we also have many opportunities to forgive and pursue peace even when we least feel like it, because we have caught a glimpse of the bigger picture.

So we all must think about what is worth more: proving that we are right in an argument and making someone pay for what they did to us, or pursuing peace through love and grace and choosing to forgive even when it’s undeserved.

What kind of a mark would you prefer to leave on the people around you? Are your actions really pointing others toward Jesus? Are you building foundations on temporary or eternal ground?

The beauty of unity is that it brings both tears and strength, and we are all better for it.

“Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.” Ephesians 4:2-4
