It’s a tale as old as time: love conquers hate. It’s true as it can be and it is up to us what we choose to portray in our lives.
In all honesty, we must admit we all have a beauty and a beast within us. In other words we all have the potential for doing good and evil. We can strive for the beauty to show, but there are certain triggers inside us all that can bring out the unsavory beast.
Perhaps you’ve lashed out at someone needlessly, lost control and tore up the house or turned someone away that really needed help. If we don’t seek to correct these “beastly” moments, we will become comfortable with them in our lives and will over time succumb to their control.
When this happens, we end up with a West Wing full of bitterness, hurtful memories and shame. We store them away hoping that no one will ever find them. They become heavy and dark, but though all may seem lost, there is still a chance to return to beauty and to let it rule once again in our lives.
The choice is yours… Beauty or Beast?
“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.” Romans 12:9
