Faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love…We are nothing without love, no matter how much faith or hope we have. No matter how big our voices are, if we are not exhibiting the love of Christ in our daily life all of our actions become iced over.
Love comes at a price, but it is the answer. Many will judge and turn away if we show love as Jesus intended us to, but one thing is certain, we will never run dry because we show His love.
It is not self-seeking and keeps no record of wrongs, and because of this, authentic love is sacrificial. It’s not always easy or pain free, but there is nothing as rewarding.
“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.”
1 John 3:16
We can’t deny the greatest act of love ever shown on the cross. One life exchanged for all because of love. We will never deserve it, yet it is graciously and wonderfully available to us.
Love is beautiful and challenging. But in its perfection it drives out all fear and fills us with confidence to love regardless of the price because He first loved us.
“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.”
1 John 4:8-12
