those people[vc_row][vc_column border_color=”” visibility=”” width=”1/6″][/vc_column][vc_column border_color=”” visibility=”” width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]
There will always be someone who will disagree with you or even laugh at you for trying to change your life or a certain situation… These people are around us and we can’t change that, but we can change how they affect us! Their words can easily discourage us, but we can filter them out! Like Nehemiah who was mocked because he wanted to change the situation in Jerusalem.

He learned that Jerusalem’s walls and gates were destroyed and under fire. His sorrow for his people provoked him to do something about it.

Nehemiah’s task wasn’t easy! He had to unite the people of Jerusalem to help him rebuild the walls and city that was destroyed. Many followed him and helped him, but there were also some who opposed him:

“When Sanballat heard that we were building the wall again, he became very angry. He was filled with anger and he made fun of the Jews. He said to his brothers and the rich men of Samaria, “What are these weak Jews doing? Are they going to build things again for themselves? Will they give gifts on the altar in worship? Will they finish in a day? Will they get good stones for building from the dust, seeing they are burned?” Tobiah the Ammonite was near him and said, “If a fox would jump on what they build, he would break their stone wall down!’” Nehemiah 4:1-3

This is very relevant to so many of us today who are trying to rebuild their lives and start over. Unfortunately, many of us will also encounter people like Sanballat and Tobiah. They will come and say that what we are trying to do will fail. These people will tell us that we can’t change—we’re unchangeable!

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

God is telling you today that YOU CAN CHANGE! You are not a lost cause. You can change with His power and protection; His peace will bring you renewing strength to finish as a winner! Don’t let the Sanballats of today destroy your progress. Decide to rebuild what has been broken, what was destroyed, or what was hidden in the darkness. Put your history in the hands of God and He will guide you in your future! Rebuilding your life today will change more lives tomorrow, because… your story matters!
