turning to the beast[vc_row][vc_column border_color=”” visibility=”” width=”1/6″][/vc_column][vc_column border_color=”” visibility=”” width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

What really happens when we surrender to the beast within? We will watch the beautiful rose wilt and fade over time as we lose pieces of ourselves with every decision to do wrong. We can turn to the Bible for a great example in the life of King Saul.

He had everything he needed to be a great king—tall, dark and handsome, anointed and chosen by God to lead the nation of Israel. Everything started out well, but what matters most is how he finished.

Saul gave in to his desires and chose his own path leading him away from God. He disobeyed God directly, and to make matters worse, he tried to cover it up with lies. He gave into destructive pride that ruined his rule and resulted in controlling jealousy that took his focus instead of seeking forgiveness. Turning to the beast is what separated Saul from God. In the end, Saul took his life by falling on his own sword.

Choice by choice, Saul deteriorated from a King with promise, to a man desperate for peace. There are consequences to ignoring God in our lives, and like Saul we can let the last rose petal fall and remain controlled by the beast.

The ultimate consequence is eternal separation from God. Think about your life choices. Seek God’s perspective and don’t wait to set things right!

“Give me a helping hand, for I have chosen to follow your commandments. O Lord, I have longed for your rescue, and your instructions are my delight. Let me live so I can praise you, and may your regulations help me. I have wandered away like a lost sheep; come and find me, for I have not forgotten your commands.” Psalm 119:173-176
