Mission Statement

Creating Hope, Providing Support, Changing Lives!

Through the power of community we serve the people of Montgomery County using every outlet we have (New Life Women’s Center, Angelic Resale and Community Hope) to support, motivate and inspire a life lived out in Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

A better world starts with one person, spreads to a family, and then a community. We envision Montgomery County as a community of people who stand for one another, helping in ways that enable another person to experience a life full of purpose, founded on God. One by one, we strive every day to connect those in need with people who are able to help!

“…The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.”

Luke 10:2

Our Value Statement

We value the authority of the Bible and we are committed to use it to affirm God’s direction for our ministry and the lives of those we are helping.

We value the local church body and support it with our attendance, participation and tithes.

We value stewardship and practice it with tithes and offerings to our local church and to various ministries while continuing to feed the hungry and clothe the poor.

We value the stewardship of God’s people who so generously support this ministry with their donations and pledges.

We value the spiritual discipline of prayer, fasting and Bible study as we strive to practice and teach personal daily intimacy with Christ.

We value strong leadership and train our staff and New Life students to serve with confidence.

We value Christian education, discipleship, and spiritual growth.

We value reaching out to the spiritually and economically poor through our local assistance programs.

We value innovation, creativity, and excellence in our Creative Ministries’ leadership and staff.

We value integrity, credibility, and unity in ourselves and in our Christian community.

Our History

Truth be told, Creative Outreach Ministries (COM) began out of the trunk of a car!

Founder Dottie Compton distributed blankets and groceries from her vehicle to people in need in the community of Conroe, Texas, for 10 years. We are proud of our small beginning as it is a constant reminder of how time-after-time God opened incredible opportunities to expand His work through this ministry. After years of faithful service, He revealed the growing need for an establishment where people could come to receive assistance rather than wait for our teams to come to them.

God made it possible for COM to become official in 1998 obtaining its 501(c)3 status. Soon after, in 1999, Angelic Resale opened its doors to help provide for the expanding ministry of Creative Outreach, as well as connecting those who have with those in need. Our Emergency Assistance program provided financial assistance, clothing and food to individuals and families who genuinely needed help. Our Emergency Assistance program recently transformed into Community Hope, working out of Angelic Resale with churches, schools and agencies through our food and clothing voucher program.

Every single area of Creative Outreach has been birthed out of God’s work in Dottie’s personal life. One major component that has come from Dottie’s early struggles is New Life Women’s Center. New Life began in 2004 with the purpose of bringing restoration to women with broken lives as she once had. Through the years of the New Life program, many women have turned their pain into purpose and are fulfilling their God-given destiny!

17 years later, Creative Outreach is a thriving non-profit organization, continuing to serve the people of Montgomery County under the guidance and direction of God and a strong foundation on His Word.

Founder of COM

Dottie Compton, born and raised in Indiana, has been married to her husband Rich for 40+ years and they deeply value their family. Dottie and Rich made their home in Conroe, Texas in 1983 and have been actively involved in Creative Outreach Ministries since its formation.

An ordained minister and licensed biblical counselor, Dottie is the executive director for Creative Outreach Ministries and New Life Women’s Center. Over the years, God has used Dottie’s painful past as a tool to help others in situations similar to hers.

Dottie believes God put greatness on the inside of every person and no matter what we face in life, He will use our challenges to bring us to a place of purpose and significance!
