You have 24 hours—that is 1,440 minutes per day. Some days crawl by, while others seem to fly away without enough time to get what we need to done.
Out of all the hours you have, do you think you balance them well? Do you take enough time to prioritize, or do you feel like you are in a whirlwind most of the time? No matter your answer, it’s important to note that a balanced life requires lots of work and constant revisitation.
Nobody is perfect. We are all a work in progress until we leave this earth! But it is important to take action and do your best when it comes to balancing your life, and at the same time recognizing that you have to be ok when life throws you off balance!
A balanced life does not mean you have every hour planned out! It means you are taking care of yourself in every aspect and keeping your thoughts and mind focused on the right things! It means you are trusting and relying on the wisdom of God to tell you when to say yes and when to say no.
One of the best visualizations of balance is to think of a car and it’s four wheels. If you’ve ever had unbalanced tires you know that once you get moving, you’re in for a bumpy ride. One tire is your physical health; the others are your emotional well-being, your relationships and your Spiritual walk. If one of those tires has been pumped too full or another is deflated, it’s going to affect how your car drives and how far you can go without causing damage.
Just like a car requires regular maintenance, we too must regularly and honestly check the balance in our lives!
“The Lord detests the use of dishonest scales, but He delights in accurate weights. Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. Honesty guides good people; dishonesty destroys treacherous people. Riches won’t help on the Day of Judgment, but right living can save you from death.” Proverbs 11:1-4
