God granted us an incredible gift—

the freedom to shape our life’s journey through our own choices.

Although it is exciting to have control over my own life, I have to admit it can also be tiring, confusing, and even burdensome. A lot of pressure comes with the responsibility of life’s decisions, and the judgment of others can intensify it even further.

After struggling for years, these words in Deuteronomy became my foundation in making decisions that have led me to a life of clarity and purpose.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20

“I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now, I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make.

Oh, that you would choose life so that you and your descendants might live! You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him.

This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

Knowing the best way forward is essential since we will be responsible for constantly making choices. If we do not have a clear directive guiding our decisions, we will inevitably face negative consequences or succumb to paralyzing fear.

The source of our decisions determines its result of having a Good – Positive Impact or an Evil – Negative one.

Following God’s wisdom will always lead you to a positive, successful life while choosing the ways of this world leads to unhappiness and self-defeat.

The ways of this world result in becoming self-focused,

The “What about me?” cycle.

There is a fine line between loving yourself and keeping yourself first.

Here are three choices to consider:

Do you see your need for God and His wisdom? Y/N

Will you accept the sacrifice Jesus paid to remove your sins and bring you close to God so you can develop a personal relationship with Him? Y/N

Are you willing to trust God’s love and wisdom and let Him guide you in fulfilling your life’s purpose? Y/N

If you choose to go with God, all your life choices will be much easier as you look to His wisdom outlined in the Word of God.

God handed us the reins to decide our direction, pursuits, and reactions, shaping the very course of our lives. Each choice defines who we are. It’s a reminder to invite God into our lives and goals, trusting Him to guide us on the right path.

So, strive for wisdom, seeking God’s counsel. Engage your mind, exploring the depths of the Bible and making choices that mirror His will. Is it in harmony with God? Does it align with Scripture? Does it bring blessings to others and myself? These are crucial questions as we stand at a crossroads.

I’ve learned that relying on my understanding alone leads me astray, distancing me from the Lord. Therefore, I draw near Him, inviting His wisdom into my decisions. He’s more than ready to offer clarity.

Success, to me, is found in yearning for more of Christ and less of myself. I hold onto the grace that saved me, trusting God’s promise to guide my steps.

Romans 12:2 speaks truth to my transformation: “Don’t mimic the world; let God change your thinking. Then you’ll know His good, pleasing, and perfect will.” Psalms and Proverbs reaffirm that seeking His will brings honor, guidance, and clarity to life’s choices.

In this journey, God’s Word provides a compass for life’s general direction, and when we ask, He graciously guides us through the intricacies of personal decisions. It’s a dance of choices, a partnership where God’s wisdom guides our authentic, personal narrative ❤️
