On a quiet evening, the greatest miracle that ever happened takes place. The world, folded in darkness and waiting for redemption, did not suspect a baby would be born in an ordinary stable among animals to bring light to the world.

This baby was extraordinary; He was sent on a mission. His was not a birth like any other but a divine reminder that great things often start small and insignificant. There, in the small town of Bethlehem, the animals, along with Mary, Joseph, the wise men, and the shepherds, witnessed the history of mankind would change forever.

Baby Jesus was breathing the air of the earth. He was small and vulnerable, entirely dependent on His parents. No one could have guessed that the world’s salvation was in a baby’s hands. That’s why Christmas is the most significant holiday – the world’s Savior came, was born of a virgin, and became like us. God came to us because of His great love so we could become His children. In His great act of humility, we can be part of the Kingdom of God and live filled with the Spirit of God every day.

During Christmas, God wants to remind us that within each of us lies the potential to bring good and illuminate the darkness around us. Jesus gave us salvation and fullness of goodness, forgiveness, peace, mercy, and grace. The Creator of the infinite universe was born to bring His presence of peace and joy into every home.

By celebrating Christmas, we celebrate life, light, and the birth of the Savior who made heaven open for us.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16-17
